Agapanthus 'Sea Storm'

Agapanthus 'Sea Storm'

  • Violet-blue flowerheads on strong stems
  • Very free-flowering
  • Beautiful summer colour
  • Semi-evergreen foliage

Agapanthus 'Sea Storm' is a very free-flowering agapanthus with more flowerstems than usual, producing masses of round violet-blue flowerheads on long, strong stems perfect for flower arrangements. The long strappy foliage is semi-evergreen. This tough but beautiful perennial is drought-tolerant and ideal for a sunny border or container.

Plant agapanthus in a well-drained soil in full sun, or in pots filled with good multipurpose compost. Deadhead the faded flowers, cutting the stems back to the base.

Feed border plants in spring with a balanced fertiliser such as Growmore. Feed container-grown plants fortnightly from April until the flowers appear using a liquid fertiliser such as Marshalls Liquid Seaweed Feed.

Mulch well in autumn to protect the plant over winter. In very cold weather, cover the plant with horticultural fleece to protect the leaves, or move container-grown plants into a frost-free environment.
