Apple ‘Gala’ is one of the world’s most widely grown dessert apples and for good reason. A dependable and adaptable variety, it performs well across the UK, producing consistent crops regardless of location or garden type.

Bred from ‘Kidd’s Orange Red’ and ‘Golden Delicious’, ‘Gala’ inherits excellent texture and flavour from its distinguished parentage. When grown at home, the apples develop a far sweeter and more aromatic taste than shop-bought fruit, with attractive skin that deepens in colour as it ripens.

Harvested in early to mid-autumn, ‘Gala’ apples store well, allowing you to enjoy homegrown fruit well beyond the picking season. Grafted onto semi-dwarfing M26 rootstock, the tree remains compact and manageable while still producing generous yields.
