Coreopsis Seeds 'Double The Sun'

Coreopsis Seeds 'Double The Sun'

  • An early bloomer with vibrant yellow daisy-like flowers
  • Popular with pollinators
  • Compact plants, ideal for containers
  • Ideal for cutting

Coreopsis grandiflora 'Double the Sun' flowers throughout summer, showing off big, golden-yellow semi-double flowers on a compact mound of foliage. This low-maintenance perennial will bring colour to a container or the front of a border and looks super lining a path. The bright flowers are very popular with butterflies and bees, and make beautiful cut flowers.

Sow indoors

Sow in trays of pre-watered seed compost and cover lightly with a little soil or vermiculite. Keep at 20-25°C and allow 3-4 weeks for germination. Do not exclude light.

Grow on

When large enough to handle transplant into trays of potting compost 5cm apart, or individually into 8cm pots.

Plant out

Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when the danger of frost has passed. Allow approximately 35cm between plants. Coreopsis thrives best in full sun. In the garden, plant in any well-drained soil. Use a good quality potting compost if planting in containers. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
