Dahlia Seeds 'Decorative Mixed'
- Colourful mix of double and semi-double dahlias
- Fantastic late summer colour
- Long flowering period
- Ideal for cutting
Dahlia ‘Decorative Mixed’ is a fabulous mix of big double and semi-double dahlias in sensational colours. Tall and impressive in borders or large containers, they provide superb late summer colour and make gorgeous cut flowers. Pick or deadhead them regularly to keep them flowering for months.
Sow indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 15–20°C and keep moist.
Grow on
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost.
Plant out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when risk of frost has passed. Allow 45cm between plants.
Aftercare
Dahlias can be prone to Botrytis on foliage so remove lower leaves regularly. Lift plants at the end of the season and allow to go dormant indoors before replanting the following year after spring.
