Gaura Seeds 'Giggles Pink Shades'

Gaura Seeds 'Giggles Pink Shades'

  • Starry pink flowers on short, slender stems
  • Long flowering period
  • Compact variety, ideal for small spaces
  • Perfect for containers

With masses of starry pink flowers on short, slender stems, Gaura ‘Giggles Pink Shades’ looks a treat in a sunny patio container. This compact variety is ideal for small spaces and flowers for months in summer.

Sow indoors

Sow on the surface of pre-watered seed compost, in pots or trays, lightly pressing into the surface. Place in a propagator or bag at around 20C (68F) in shade and allow 3-6 weeks for germination. Remove lid or bag and keep in cooler, brighter conditions after germination.

Grow on

Transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle. Grow on in a sheltered spot outdoors, such as a cold frame or unheated greenhouse.

Plant out

Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions before planting out in full sun once the danger of frost has passed. Allow 45cm (18in) between plants. Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny border, or in good quality compost in containers.

Aftercare

Cut back hard in late winter each year. Clumps can be divided every 2-3 years.
