Geranium Seeds 'Horizon Red'
- Clusters of bright red flowers
- Attractive foliage
- Flowers all through summer
- Perfect for containers
Geranium ‘Horizon Red’ is a classic geranium with clusters of big, bright red flowers on sturdy stems on bushy plants with attractively marked foliage. Flowering for months in summer, it looks great in beds, containers and window boxes. Deadhead regularly to keep the flowers coming well into early autumn.
Sow indoors
Almost fill a small seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 20-25°C, and keep moist. Lower temperatures inhibit germination.
Grow on
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant individually to 8cm pots. As young plants develop, grow on at between 10-15ºC.
Plant out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 30cm between plants.
Aftercare
Geraniums benefit from regular feeding through the flowering season and the removal of dead heads.
