Lettuce Oakleaf Red has a lovely complex flavour not to mention its beautiful appearance. As it's name suggests, the variety has oak leaf shaped leaves that are a striking rich red colour. Starting off as a medium green with red and green veining and turns a deep burgundy as they mature. It is the strength of the full sun brings out the deep-red colour.

Not only does it look great on your plate, it's texture and taste is perfect for matching with delicate flavours. It can even be cooked or stuffed. Top Tip- use the leaves to wrap up other salady bits ( e.g. grated carrot and courgette ribbons) like a Vietnamese spring roll.

The variety has good regrowth for multiple cuttings, so you can enjoy this flavour for longer!
