Nepeta Seeds 'Blue Moon'
- Abundant blue flowerspikes in summer
- Fragrant foliage
- Long flowering period
- Very popular with pollinators
Compact and long-flowering Nepeta ‘Blue Moon’ is simply smothered in rich blue flowerspikes from early summer into early autumn over mounds of aromatic leaves. Hardy and drought-tolerant, it’s perfect for sunny borders or containers. The flowers are incredibly popular with bees.
Sow indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 18-25°C and keep moist. Cover the tray with cling film but remove as soon as seedlings begin to emerge.
Grow on
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost.
Plant out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 30cm between plants.
Aftercare
Once blooms begin to fade, cut the flowering stems back to encourage a second flush.
