Rudbeckia Seeds 'Autumn Colours'

Rudbeckia Seeds 'Autumn Colours'

  • Stunning mix of autumn colours
  • Very free-flowering
  • Flowers from early summer into autumn
  • Popular with pollinators

Rudbeckia ‘Autumn Colours’ is a stunning mix of glowing autumn tones, with masses of golden flowers flushed with copper, orange and bronze appearing from early summer well into autumn. Held on long sturdy stems, they’re very popular with pollinators, especially butterflies, and small birds love the dried seedheads. The flowers are superb for cutting.

Sow indoors

Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, around 20°C and keep moist.

Grow on

Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost.

Plant out

Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 30cm between plants.

Aftercare

Dead head spent flowers regularly to encourage more blooms.
