A fast growing early to fruit June bearer variety. Produces large fruit with a high sugar content. Starts to fruit earlier than other June bearer varieties. From early June to early July. Fast vegetative growth means less nitrogen rich feed is needed early on but change to a high potash feed once flowers and fruit appear.
Produces quite an upright growth habit with flowers appearing under the canopy, so the flowers are quite protected from early frosts. Flowers of 'Allegro' produce a lot of pollen and fruit set is usually very good with few misshapen fruits.
Has good all round resistance to Crown rot, Verticillium wilt and powdery Mildew.
PREMIUM: We offer a PREMIUM grade of Bare root runner which has been grown in a different way to traditional runners. Traditional grade runners produce 2-3 flower stalks in year one, each one of these producing 6 plus fruits. The PREMIUM grade bare roots produces up to 10 flower stalks with 6 plus fruits per stalk. This is an incredible 3-4 times more fruits in year one!
